The University of Scranton Police Department

In 2010, The University of Scranton made the major transition from a public safety security department to a fully certified and operational armed police department. The University of Scranton Police Department is operational 24 hours a day, seven days a week. With 16 full time Police Officers, the University of Scranton Police Department is the second largest full time Police Department in Lackawanna County, second only to the City of Scranton Police Department. The department also employs three Service Officers, four Police Dispatchers, 39 Student Officers, and over 50 security cameras around the campus.
The University of Scranton Police are a part of the Department of Public Safety. Other departments include Parking Services, and Environmental Health and Safety. These three entities work in unison with each other to ensure that the University of Scranton enjoys the safest environment available for our students, faculty, and staff.
