Engineering

Graduates of the engineering program have successfully found employment in areas such as research and development, government, industry and manufacturing, and business. The starting salary range is usually between $40,000-$50,000.

Engineering is the profession in which knowledge of mathematics and natural sciences is applied to develop ways to utilize the materials and forces of nature for the benefit of mankind.

Planning for College

The University of Scranton encourages a strong college preparatory program in high school with a minimum of four years of English, three years of mathematics, social science and science, and at least two years of a foreign language with additional units taken in acceptable academic areas. In addition, you are encouraged to take a full complement of science courses, advanced calculus and physics in high school.

Engineering at The University of Scranton

The engineering program at The University of Scranton offers you undergraduate majors in the following:

The objective of each program is to prepare you for a professional career or advanced study in computer engineering, electrical engineering, computer science, biomedical engineering, optical engineering, or business/administrative positions for other areas of engineering, including chemical, civil, environmental and mechanical.

As a student in the engineering program, you'll study basic science courses such as physics, chemistry and biology, mathematics and statistics, computer science, electrical engineering, design, selected business and economics courses, writing, public speaking, and the liberal arts.

Outcomes
