Programs of Study

Finance

The study of finance enables you to use the tools and techniques needed for financial resources of businesses and individuals. If you are interested in working in the stock market, or in the banking and financial sector as analysts for industry and government, you should find the study of finance to be interesting and rewarding. Majoring in finance requires a strong background in economics. Individuals who are successful in investment banking, corporate financial management, and securities funding and banking are often finance (or economics) majors. Majoring in finance is especially appropriate for careers in corporate financial management, investment banking, brokerage and securities trading, banking, industry, government, and international business.

The University of Scranton encourages a strong college preparatory program in high school with a minimum of four years of English, three years of mathematics, social science and science and, at least two years of a foreign language with additional units taken in acceptable academic areas.
