Planning for College

The University of Scranton encourages a strong college preparatory program in high school with a minimum of four years of English, three years of mathematics, social science and science, and at least two years of a foreign language with additional units taken in acceptable academic areas. In addition, students are encouraged to take a full complement of science courses, advanced calculus and physics in high school.

Pre-Engineering at The University of Scranton

The pre-engineering program at The University of Scranton is a two-year course of study that introduces students to the highly technical training necessary for all phases of the engineering profession and enables students to transfer to other institutions to complete their degree requirements.

Generally, engineering program requirements differ slightly from school to school. Since the requirements may vary, students are recommended to consult with an advisor at the institution in which they plan to complete their studies by the beginning of their sophomore year.

The engineering curriculum at the University is broad-based with up-to-date content in engineering sciences, engineering design and computers. This provides students with the highly technical training necessary for all phases of the engineering profession.
