The Kania School of Management has continued to build on its student-centered excellence since achieving AACSB International accreditation of its undergraduate and graduate programs in 1996. We remain the only school in our region with this level of accreditation in both programs, but we are different in other important ways as well. As a Jesuit business school, our academic excellence emphasizes values, and, increasingly, our students deal with social responsibility, ethics, sustainability, and social justice themes as part of their development of critical thinking and decision making skills. We have also continued to strengthen our global emphasis in academic work by enabling faculty and students to participate seamlessly in a variety of international programs in South America, Europe, and Asia. As indicated in our mission, we continue to educate our students to grow into successful business leaders who serve their communities well.

The Kania School is located on one of the most technologically equipped campuses in the nation, and we have taken advantage of this environment to improve existing programs and create exciting new ones. In the past two years, for example, we have successfully introduced the Business Administration undergraduate major, which will serve the needs of adult and professional learners better than ever. Additionally, in fall 2005, we begin implementation of a new flexible MBA program which will empower graduate students to build personalized programs which focus on their career goals.

We invite you to explore our many programs, including our unique Business Leadership Program, which we deliver in our state of the art facilities in Brennan Hall. We support our courses with the latest business tools, including the latest software suites such as the SAP R/3 Enterprise Resource Planning package. We also value very highly the contributions of our corporate supporters who serve as visitors, executives in residence, and mentors to our students.

The next five years (2005-2010) will bring many exciting developments. We will continue to sharpen our focus on Jesuit inspired management skills in a global business context. To further facilitate excellence in business scholarship by our faculty and students and to support classroom instruction, we plan to build a stock trading and research laboratory in Brennan Hall. The trading lab will also house business research databases such as Compustat. On the global front, we will develop our relationships with certain international universities, especially in China, into full fledged faculty and student exchange partnerships. These initiatives, along with other planned developments, will provide our students with values and realistic skills, and make them even better prepared to achieve and serve.

We invite you to join our exciting Kania School of Management Team as student, faculty, staff, or supporter.
