HISTORY AND INTERNATIONAL STUDIES STUDENTS INDUCTED INTO ALPHA SIGMA NU
Kevin Dermody, Maureen Grady, Dennis Mishko, Rosemary Shaver, Aimee Wechsler, Rose Marie Wong and Sarah Neitz were inducted into Alpha Sigma Nu (the Jesuit Honor Society) on Sunday April 3. Additionally, Rosemary Shaver was elected president of the University of Scranton chapter of Alpha Sigma Nu for the 2011-2012 school year.
INTERNATIONAL STUDIES MAJOR WINS TRUMAN SCHOLARSHIP
Junior Sarah Neitz, an International Studies Major from Gettysburg, PA, is one of just 60 students from 54 colleges in the nation -- and the only scholar in Pennsylvania -- selected as a 2011 Truman Scholar. Sarah joins the elite group of scholars selected from a highly competitive pool of 602 candidates nominated by 264 universities in the United States.
HISTORY MAJOR, AIMEE WECHSLER, AWARDED INTERNSHIP AT LITTLE BIGHORN BATTLEFIELD NATIONAL MONUMENT
Aimee Wechsler, a senior History major from Scranton, has been awarded a summer 2011 internship at the Little Bighorn Battlefield National Monument in Montana (http://www.nps.gov/libi/index.htm).Aimee was one of three interns selected from across the U.S. From June until September, she will work at the Custer Battlefield Museum at the National Park Service facility. Included in her duties will be assisting park visitors and conducting research under the direction of the Park Superintendent.
