GENERAL FACULTY AND STUDENT NEWS/INFORMATION:

Rank and Tenure Updates:
Dr. Bryan Burnham has been awarded tenure;
Dr. Christie Karpiak
was recently granted promotion to Full Professor; and
Dr. Jessica Nolan has received a promotion in rank to Associate Professor.

Ms. Martha Triano, Psychology/Philosophy major, has been awarded the 2013 President's Fellowship for Summer Research Program.  Martha will be working with Dr. Jessica Nolan on her proposal titled Heuristics and Social Norms: A Potential Interaction in Recycling Behavior(updated 5/2/13)

Ms. Allyson Kiss, Psychology major, was recently selected in a nationwide competition to be one of a small group (out of hundreds of applicants) to attend the national convention of the American Educational Research Association meeting in San Francisco. The program, a three day event entitled AERA Undergraduate Student Education Research Training Workshop, introduced promising undergraduate researchers who are headed to graduate school to a host of prominent researchers and the research process.  (updated 5/2/13)

Dr. John C. Norcross recently published his acclaimed self-help book, Changeology: 5 Steps to Realizing your Goals and Resolutions (Simon & Schuster, www.Changeologybook.com), as well as new editions of his professional texts, Psychotherapy Relationships that Work and Self-Help that Works (both by Oxford University Press).  (updated 2/1/2013)

Awarded APA Presidential Citations

The APA President has the authority to bestow eight citations from the 150,000 membership of APA during her or his presidential year. These citations are given to members who have made outstanding and distinguished contributions to the field. This year, President Melba Vasquez cited both of our APA Council Representatives, John C. Norcross and Linda F. Campbell among the awardees.  (9/6/2011)
