Research and Teaching Interests: Dr. Loreen Wolfer is full professor of sociology/criminal justice and has been at the University since 1996. She received her undergraduate Bachelor of Arts degree from Franklin and Marshall College (1991) and both her Master's (1993) and Ph.D (1996) from Cornell University. Dr. Wolfer has presented papers at a number of national and state conferences and has published articles in various professional journals. She is the author of the book Real Research: Conducting and Evaluating Research in the Social Sciences, a research methods textbook, and the co-author of the book entitled Brief History of Social Problems. Dr. Wolfer is also the director of the University of Scranton Pre-Law Program. As such she advises students on the law school application process. She is also the moderator for Alpha Kappa Delta, the International Sociology Honor Society. Courses taught by Dr. Wolfer include Statistics for the Social Sciences, Research Methods in the Social Sciences, Marriage and Family, Collective Behavior and Social Movements, and Introduction to Sociology. Her research interests are both qualitative and quantitative and primarily focus on the evaluation of local policies and programs.

Additional Information: Her personal interests include reading, crafts, cooking, and chasing after her two young daughters.
