University of Scranton Psychology Professor Carole Slotterback's research of more than 1,200 children's letters to Santa reveal what children really want for Christmas. Dr. Slotterback wrote about her findings in a recently published book "The Psychology of Santa." The Philadelphia Inquirer published a story about Dr. Slotterback's research in December 2010. Scranton alumnus Jeff Chirico, a reporter for WBRE-TV, did a story about her findings that aired locally on Nov. 23, 2009, and has subsequently aired on news broadcasts throughout the country, including stations in Savannah, Ga.; Salt Lake City, Utah; Jacksonville, Fla.; Atlantic City, N.J.; Memphis, Tenn.; and Madison, Wis.
