RANKING HIGHLIGHTS GROWING GLOBAL RECOGNITION
The Kania School of Management’s programs are increasingly garnering the attention and respect of national and global entities. Premier accreditation, top rankings, and the recognition and praise of business luminaries have brought heightened visibility to the School’s long tradition of quality, market relevance and social mission.
The University of Scranton’s business programs have maintained accreditation with AACSB International since 1996 – a distinction held by fewer than five percent of business-degree-granting institutions worldwide. In its most recent maintenance-of-accreditation visit, AACSB officials singled out the Kania School’s mature assurance-of-learning program, its consultative strategic-planning process, the advocacy of its mission, its strong mentoring program, the use of industry leaders to teach cutting-edge courses, its Women’s Entrepreneurship Center, and its co-curricular Professional Development Passport program for commendation.
The Princeton Review touts The University of Scranton’s Jesuit influence for adding “an element of social responsibility” and creating a environment where “students can rely on each other for a sense of camaraderie and support” in its profile naming Scranton’s Kania School of Management among the “Best 294 Business Schools” in the nation. This marks the seventh consecutive year the University has been included among this elite listing of business schools.
The Princeton Review profile also notes the Kania School’s “outstanding professors who take pride in teaching” and bring real-world experience into the classroom, as well as the school’s “excellent learning atmosphere, where everyone is friendly and willing to help.” Also mentioned are the school’s simulated stock trading floor and its accreditation by the rigorous standards of AACSB International.
In addition to its “Best Business School” designation, The University of Scranton MBA has been ranked for two consecutive years among the top 15 programs nationally in general management by Entrepreneur Magazine and Princeton Review.
Top of PageIn its inaugural rankings of online business programs in 2012, U.S. News & World Report ranked The University of Scranton Online MBA program number 1 for accreditation and student engagement. Along with its top ranking for student engagement, the Scranton program came in at #13 for “Student Services and Technology” and made the honor roll in the “Faculty Credentials and Training” category.
In 2013, U.S. News & World Report for the first time combined its metrics in the various categories to arrive at an overall ranking in the rapidly expanding array of online MBA programs offered nationwide. Scranton’s #39 ranking places it among the top 20 percent of the 214 programs considered (top 4 percent for student services and technology, top 10 percent for student engagement, top 20 percent for faculty credentials and training, and top 25 percent for admissions selectivity).
The Online MBA program is also ranked number 3 in both TheBestDegrees’ list of top-ten accredited online business-degree programs and MBANoGMAT.com’s top-50 list.
It comes in at #14 in BusinessMBA.org’s Best Value Online MBA rankings, appears as number 17 in SuperScholar’s rankings of the best online MBA programs, and has been named among the “Top 47 Ranked Online Business Schools” by GetEducated.com.
Peter F. Drucker, the “Father of Modern Management,” said of The University of Scranton’s business programs: “Don’t go to Harvard, but to the business school at the University of Scranton. That’s where they are changing lives.” That assessment, offered several years ago, is echoed with each new recognition of the quality of the Kania School of Management.
