The University of Scranton is pleased to announce a total of ten positions in the following departments: Accounting, Chemistry, Counseling and Human Services, Education, Exercise Science & Sport, Management/Marketing, Occupational Therapy, and Physics.

The Department of Chemistry invites applications for its tenure track position at the rank of Assistant Professor in the area of organic chemistry starting in August 2012 with responsibilities to include teaching, scholarship, and service. The successful candidate will design and teach courses in Organic Chemistry at the undergraduate and graduate levels. A Ph.D. in Chemistry or related discipline is preferred but ABD in Chemistry or related discipline will be considered. Counseling: Assistant Professor-Counselor Educator
This is a full-time, 9-month academic year, tenure track, growth line faculty position at the University of Scranton in the Department of Counseling and Human Services starting August, 2012. The department is home to two CACREP accredited master's degree programs in Community and School Counseling, along with a CORE accredited master's degree program in Rehabilitation Counseling and a CSHSE accredited undergraduate Counseling and Human Services program. The department aims to recruit candidates from diverse backgrounds who share with us a commitment to high quality teaching, scholarship, service, and dedication to students' ongoing professional development. This position is for a counselor educator with school counseling expertise. Applicants with demonstrated interest in developing and delivering online course content desired. Besides teaching in the CACREP accredited School Counseling program, the successful candidate will also have the ability to teach core courses at the graduate and undergraduate levels. Responsibilities include a 21-credit workload, graduate teaching and course support for the undergraduate program, research and publication, clinical supervision of Master's level counseling students, and student advisement/mentoring. Individuals who possess the experience to teach one or more of the following core courses are particularly encouraged to apply: Research Methods, Practicum, and Counseling Skills. Professional, campus, and community service, as well as pursuit of an active research agenda are necessary for promotion and tenure. Required: earned doctorate in Counselor Education or a closely-related field; relevant experience as a professional school counselor; familiarity with the ASCA National Model, and previous teaching experience. Preferred: graduate of a CACREP-accredited program, and possession of, or eligibility for, additional credentials (NCC, CRC, LPC).The ideal applicant will also have a proven track record of school counselor advocacy work, accountability, and a focus on closing achievement gaps for underserved student populations. The Department of Education invites applications for its tenure-track position with responsibilities in teaching, scholarship, and service. Exercise Science & Sport: Tenure Track Faculty in Biomech/Applied Anatomy
The Department of Exercise Science & Sport invites applications for this full-time, 9-month academic year, tenure track position commencing August 2012. The successful candidate will be responsible for, but not limited to, teaching Biomechanics ad Applied anatomy courses. Additional assigned courses may include other topics within the curriculum. Candidate should possess experience working with Codamotion Analysis System, Hawk Digital Real Time Camera System, Dartfish, Noraxon Telemyo Telemetry System, Noraxon MyoTrace 400, and Biopac MP 150 data Acquisition System. Experience with teaching undergraduate students in a cadaver lab setting will be given preference. Qualifications: An earned Doctorate in Exercise Science, or an associated field. ABD candidates will be considered. Preference will be given to those candidates who have shown an evidence of scholarly research within the discipline. Salary is commensurate with qualifications. Exercise Science & Sport: Assistant Professor in Nutrition
The Department of Exercise Science & Sport invites applications for this full-time, 9 month academic year, tenure track position commencing August 2012. The successful candidate will be responsible for, but not limited to, the teaching of beginner through advanced nutrition classes. Additional assigned courses may include other topics within the health filed. Candidate will be expected to further develop the nutrition program including curriculum and program development. Qualifications: An earned Doctorate in Nutrition, or an associated health filed. ABD in Nutrition and/or associate health field with completion by August 1, 2012. Candidate must also possess current Registered Dietitian certification. Preference will be given to those candidates who have shown an evidence of scholarly research in nutrition. Mathematics: Tenure Track in Biomathematics
The Department of Mathematics invites applications for this full-time position to begin August 2012. The candidate should have the ability or potential ability to enhance and direct our undergraduate Biomathematics program, including designing new courses, advising majors, and interacting with faculty from other science departments. Must be able to teach courses across the undergraduate mathematics curriculum. Candidates who are passionate about teaching in a liberal arts tradition and pursuing interdisciplinary research are encouraged to apply. Qualifications: A Ph.D. in mathematics is preferred. however a ABD in mathematics or related field with completion of doctorate by September 1, 2012 will be considered. In addition, research specializing in the application of mathematics to a biological field is preferred. Theology-Religious Studies: Tenure Track in Scripture
The Department of Theology/Religious Studies invite applications for full-time position in Scripture with specialization in either testament and ability to teach in the other, beginning in Fall 2012. Teaching responsibilities include undergraduate survey courses in Christian Scripture and upper level and graduate courses in Old and/or new Testament, but the department would especially welcome applicants with the desire and ability to teach in another area of Catholic theology. Applicants should be both familiar and sympathetic with the Catholic and Jesuit tradition and eager to contribute to the University's mission. Qualifications: Earned doctorate in Theology or closely related discipline, however a ABD in Theology or closely related discipline with completion by August 2012 will be considered; commitment to undergraduate teaching; capacity and interest in pursuing research in their field. Accounting: Assistant Professor in Accounting Information Systems and Auditing
Kania School of Management(AACSB) invites applications for its tenure-track position in Accounting Information Systems & Auditing beginning August 2012, at the rank of assistant professor. Duties include teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels, scholarly research activities meeting AACSB-related criteria and service. The primary teaching responsibilities will be in the areas of accounting information systems and auditing. An ability to teach writing intensive and accounting communications courses is desirable. The qualifications for the position include an earned doctorate in the appropriate field from an AACSB-accredited institution. ABD with completion expected within 18 months of appointment will also be considered.
