Non Tenure Track Position - History
The Department of History at The University of Scranton invites applications for a one year (renewable for a second year), non-tenure track, leave replacement in 19th Century American History, beginning Fall 2013. Ph.D. preferred, but will consider ABD with degree completed by July 2013. Primary responsibilities include teaching the United States survey, as well as the department's courses on the Civil War and the Age of Jackson. Candidates should be able to demonstrate teaching experience and an active record of scholarly publication.

Assistant Professor in the Department of Accounting: Information Systems & Auditing. Applicants must be qualified to teach at the undergraduate and graduate levels, demonstrate scholarly research activities which meet AACSB-related criteria, be committed to service. The primary teaching responsibilities will be in the areas of accounting information systems and auditing. An ability to teach writing intensive and accounting communications courses is desirable. The qualifications for the position include an appropriate earned doctorate from an AACSB-accredited institution or ABD (at the rank of lecturer) with completion expected within 18 months of appointment
Education: Assistant Professor-Early and Primary Education (PreK-4)
Assistant Professor in the Department of Education: Education Early & Primary Education (PreK-4). The successful candidate should have: 1) an earned doctorate in Education by August 2013; 2) teaching experience in a university teacher education program; 3) a minimum of three years of quality teaching experience in public or private school PreK-4 classrooms and be certifiable in PreK-4 teaching. The successful candidate will also demonstrate a clearly defined scholarly agenda and evidence of committed community and professional service.
Education: Assistant Professor-Reading Education (K-12)
Assistant Professor in the Department of Education: Reading Education (K-12). The successful candidate should have: 1) an earned doctorate in Reading Education by August 13, 2012; 2) teaching experience in a university teacher education program; 3) a minimum of three years of quality teaching experience in Reading Education in public or private school PreK-12 classrooms and be certifiable in Reading Education (K-12). The successful candidate will also demonstrate a clearly defined scholarly agenda and evidence or committed community and professional service.
Exercise Science and Sport: Assisstant Professor-Community Health Education Program
Assistant Professor in Department of Exercise Science and Sport- Community Health Education Program. The successful candidate will be responsible for, but not limited to, the teaching of beginner through advanced community health education courses. Additional assigned courses may include other topics within the health field. Minimum Qualifications: An earned doctorate in community health education/health promotion or an associated health field is required. ABD with an anticipated defense before August 2013 will be considered at the rank of Lecturer. Preferred Qualifications: Demonstrate future promise for establishing a strong research agenda; previous undergraduate teaching experience; professional experience in health education/health promotion; evidence of eligibility for credentialing as a Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES). Preference given to applications received prior to December 1, 2012.
Occupational Therapy: Assistant Professor
Assistant Professor in the Department of Occupational Therapy. Qualified applicants should have an earned, non-clinical doctorate in occupational therapy or a related field. Candidates who have completed a doctoral degree by August 1, 2013 will be considered at the initial rank of Lecturer. The successful candidate will demonstrate an area of clinical expertise, the ability to facilitate faculty mentored student research, and a record of teaching effectiveness. The candidate must be eligible for licensure as an Occupational Therapist in Pennsylvania. Review of applications will begin immediately and continue until the position is filled.
