Vivarium

The vivarium in the new facility will have a number of new and exciting facility upgrades, inlcuding:

• Improved equipment management facilities and efficient hardware
• More animal holding rooms to accommodate current and future needs
• An aviary (designed for bats) with independent light, temperature, and humidity control
• Two behavioral testing rooms that have water maze capabilities, an observation zone/control room (see sample illustration below)

Part of our vivarium is building a facility that caters to the well-being of our research animals. As a Jesuit institution, we value life in all its forms, and the new vivarium will allow us to create an research environment that promotes proper care and respect for our research subjects.
