Our Admissions Committee is eager to review your application and will make the final decision on applications for admission. We will consider the following factors in reaching an admisions decision: demonstrated evidence of a student's academic ability, intellectual curiosity, a student's high school record, class rank, SAT and / or ACT scores, strength of character, and motivation. The requirements for a completed application depend on whether you are applying as a freshman, transfer, or international student. See the application procedures for more information.

APPLICATION PROCEDURES
Transfer Candidates Submit:
•  Completed application
•  Official high school transcript showing graduation date or official copy of the GED certificate and grade report
•  Official results of the SAT I or ACT*

•  Official transcripts from all colleges attended, whether or not credit was earned, and a list of courses in progress
•  Personal Statement
•  Letter of recommendation
•  Eligible citizenship applicants with permanent residency status must submit a copy of the current Proof of Residency card
International Candidates Submit:
•  Completed application
•  $40 (U.S.) non-refundable application fee, payable to "The University of Scranton" (waived for on-line applications)
•  Two letters of recommendation from an instructor
•  Official transcripts (with certified English translation) showing all secondary and post-secondary courses and grades
•  Official results of the TOEFL or APIEL
•  Certified confirmation of financial resources
•  Personal statement

APPLICATION DEADLINES
December 15: Preferred Deadline for Spring-Semester Transfer Applications
Transfer students interested in applying for the spring semester are encouraged to apply by December 15.

August 1: Preferred Deadline for Fall-Semester Transfer Applications
Transfer students interested in applying for the fall semester are encouraged to apply by August 1.

Applications are considered after preferred dates on a space-available basis.

FINANCIAL AID

Applicants for need-based grants, loans and student employment should file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) form. You can apply online at www.fafsa.ed.gov. Our federal school code is 003384.  For assistance in transferring FAFSA data, contact the Financial Aid Office at 1-888-SCRANTON.

All accepted students are evaluated for academic merit scholarships. No special applications are required. Students receiving merit scholarships will be notified of the amount in the acceptance packet.
