The University of Scranton's scholarship and financial aid program provides both merit and need-based awards to qualified freshmen and transfer students. Please refer to the Application Requirements.

The merit scholarship program is named in honor of Saint Ignatius of Loyola, the founder of the Society of Jesus. The need-based awards pay tribute to two other Jesuit priests. Saint Francis Xavier labored in India and the far East in the 16th century and was one of the greatest missionaries since apostolic times. Saint Peter Claver, often described as "the slave of slaves," spent his priestly life working among the slaves in Colombia, South America, during the 17th century.
