DEANNA KLINGMAN

One of the finest players to ever don a Lady Royal uniform, Deanna Klingman, known then as Deanna Kyle, averaged 18.1 points,, 5.7 rebounds and 8.1 assists per game in leading the Lady Royals to a 31-1 overall record and its first-ever Division III title in women’s basketball in 1985. Deanna recently completed her 7th year as an assistant at her Alma Mater.

Klingman was named the National Player of the Year in Division III and was the Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the Middle Atlantic Conference Northern Division. She still holds the Lady Royals’ single-season record for highest assist average and the 543 points she scored during the 1984-1985 season is seventh best in Scranton history.
