Be Surprised
Founded in 1888, The University of Scranton is a private Catholic and Jesuit university that is known for outstanding academic quality, a beautiful and technology-rich campus, and a sense of community that helps you feel right at home.
Nestled in Pennsylvania’s Pocono Northeast region, The University’s 56-acre hillside campus is in the heart of Scranton, a community of 75,000 within a greater metropolitan area of 750,000 people. Take a walking tour of our campus on Google!
Scranton offers 61 bachelor’s degree programs, 43 minors, 23 master’s degree programs and a doctor of physical therapy program through four colleges and schools. Visit our Undergraduate Programs page to see the full range of available majors.
Always Improving
We’ve constructed 25 new buildings, including a campus center, and renovated 38 others since 1984. A new, unified science center is slated for completion in the fall of 2011. We're also in the midst of a beautification project that will extend the Commons and improve Mulberry Street, the gateway to campus. In total, we are investing more than $180 million in projects to transform our campus.
