WUSR, 99.5 FM, Royal Radio, is a student operated radio station with over sixty participants. The format is eclectic with world, classical, jazz, urban and alternative music. In keeping with the university's mission as the voice of the University of Scranton, the station produces public affairs programming and provides the community with an alternative to commercial radio. Students are encouraged to become involved with all aspects of the station, from on-air positions to management. The station broadcasts at 300 watts with a coverage area of 700 square miles, covering the Scranton-Wilkes-Barre metropolitan area, with an audience of over 250,000.

WUSR is a student run organization. We have a dedicated staff of students who belong to the managerial team. It’s their job to see that WUSR remains a college radio leader in the area. Students make up 80% of the on-air personalities. Students learn many facets of the radio profession through their participation in the station. They are the source of the unique sound of WUSR.
