Rodolfo Cardenal, S.J.
Rodolfo Cardenal, S.J. - Currently conducting academic research in Nicaragua, Fr. Rodolfo Cardenal is the former Vice Rector of the University of Central America (UCA) in San Salvador. Fr. Cardenal lived with the six Jesuits, their housekeeper and her fifteen year-old daughter who were brutally murdered in November, 1989, at the UCA. Fr. Cardenal shared his reflections with over 400 members of the University Community on October 28, 2009, on the legacy of the martyrs lives, and those of thousands of others murdered in El Salvador during their Civil War.
Fr. Cardenal has written many books and articles on the living conditions of El Salvador and its martyrs, including Archbishop Oscar Romero, who was assassinated in March, 1980. He frequently gives interviews and is invited to speak internationally about issues facing El Salvador and Central America in general.
