Screening of Academy Award-nominated Documentary 'Sun Come Up' Oct. 3

Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE), the Education for Justice Office and the Catholic Coalition on Climate Change present a screening of "Sun Come Up" on Wednesday, Oct. 3, at 7 p.m. in the DeNaples Center, room 401. This 38-minute documentary depicts some of the world’s first “forced climate migrants,” inhabitants of the Carteret Islands just north of Bougainville, Papua New Guinea. The Catholic Church has been instrumental in helping to relocate these “environmental refugees.” The nationwide screening coincides with the Feast of St. Francis, patron saint of those who promote ecology. The screening is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served. For more information contact Jan Kelly, Ph.D., at jan.kelly@scranton.edu.
