USPB Tuition Raffle Due Date Extended

Letters Mailed to University Students' Home Addresses Stated:

Dear University of Scranton Parents/Guardians,

Financing a college education is a tremendous sacrifice for a family, both personally and monetarily.  As students, we realize the financial burden that a private university can place on our families.  Therefore, we The University of Scranton Programming Board’s Senior Class Programmers are excited to announce that once again we are sponsoring the annual TUITION RAFFLE!

This Tuition Raffle is an opportunity for you to win reimbursement of tuition for a full time student up to the amount of $18,553.00 applicable for the Spring 2013 semester!  In order to participate, a student must be currently enrolled on a full-time undergraduate basis at The University of Scranton.  Please note that the tuition monies won in this raffle will result in a taxable event to the winner.

The Tuition Raffle greatly helps in deferring the cost of programming events for the Senior Class of 2013.  Such events include the Senior Holiday Party, Senior Week events and activities, Life Beyond Scranton educational events, and Senior Class Service Projects involving the Scranton community at large.  While the University provides a portion of funds for programming, it does not cover all of our senior class programming.  It should be noted that several of these senior activities include the serving of alcohol (for those of legal drinking age only).  Therefore, this raffle is our main source of funding for the entire academic year and all senior events.  The bigger the response, the better these events can be!  We depend greatly on your generosity!

Here is how it works:

$70 for 1 chance       
$105 for 2 chances
$150 for 3 chances
$170 for 4 chances

BUT WAIT!

When you buy 4 chances, you get a 5^th CHANCE FREE!! (Simply send in a 5^th completed ticket with your first 4 tickets and $170)

Five (5) chance tickets have been included in this letter.  If you would like to help the Senior Class reach its programming goals, by participating in our raffle, we ask that you simply complete the information requested on the top portion of each of the enclosed chance tickets that you wish to purchase (Student Name, Address, Telephone) and return them, along with a check (made payable to The University of Scranton) for the appropriate amount, to:

The Tuition Raffle drawing will take place during our annual Christmas on the Commons on December 2, 2012. All purchased chance tickets must be received in our office by Wednesday, November 28, 2012.
