Four alumni doctors and five students journeyed to Haiti on the Medical Alumni Council’s annual medical mission. Once again, the team worked with Fr. Rick Frechette, C.P. H’07, St. Damian’s Hospital Director, doctor and priest.
Lead by Hartford, Conn., maxillofacial surgeon Dr. Richard Bevilacqua ’83, the team spent one week in January providing much needed medical care to the underserved people of Haiti. Dr. Pamela Taffera ’02, Dr. Chris Andres ’89, Dr. Chris Jones, ’02 and University students Lucie Henry, Moriah Diamond, Nick Cucci, Brian Entler and Dana Muller joined the team on the mission.
There will be a lot to cheer about on Saturday, Feb. 9, at the John J. Long Center! Please join your fellow Scranton alumni, parents and friends to cheer on our basketball teams as they take on conference rivals Catholic University!

Prior to tip-off, The University of Scranton men’s and women’s basketball teams will honor their senior class. Following the women’s game, a reception will be held in the Byron Recreation Complex for alumni, family, friends, the team and coaches sponsored by the Alumni Society of The University of Scranton.

Celebrate the achievements of occupational therapy students and alumni at the Occupational Therapy Graduate Student Spring Fling and Alumni Reunion, scheduled for April 20, from 7:30 to 11:30 p.m., in the DeNaples Center's ballroom. Proceeds will support the Thomas Jerome House, founded by Kristen Reil Perilli ’05, a Scranton OT alumna after working with Thomas Jerome Hromisin ’05, a fellow Scranton alumnus, injured in Iraq.
