Human Resource Office Launches 'For Your Benefit' Series

The Office of Human Resources is pleased to announce the launch of a series of learning sessions available to staff and faculty entitled "For Your Benefit."

Recognizing that our employees face many challenges while navigating the ever increasing complexities of managing a work life fit, we have designed a series of sessions to provide information, resources and planning guidance on a wide range of topics including our various employee benefit plans and life issues such as retirement and estate planning.

The series will begin this spring semester with a focus on retirement readiness as outlined in sessions 1 and 2 below. Additional sessions discussing early career and mid-career retirement income planning will be offered in April and May. Stay tuned for details. Your suggestions for future For Your Benefit topics are welcome and can be made via email at hr@scranton.edu.

Medicare Supplement Plans and Medicare Advantage Plans

If you are nearing Medicare age or have assisted loved ones already enrolled in Medicare, you know that the task of evaluating health insurance options with Medicare can be a confusing, if not a daunting task. Join us to learn the A, B, C’s of Medicare and gain a general understanding of the health insurance plans that work with Medicare. Representatives from Highmark and Blue Cross of Northeastern PA will compare and contrast the programs relative to plan design, pricing and coordination with Medicare.

Please RSVP to Human Resources at hr@scranton.edu by Wednesday, March 6. Significant others or friends nearing Medicare age are welcome.
