The Jane Kopas Women’s Center and the Women’s Entrepreneurship Center at The University of Scranton are hosting “Women Open Doors,” an opportunity for University female students to connect with local leaders in the Scranton area. The event, in celebration of Women’s History Month, will be held on Wednesday, March 13, at 5 p.m. in the DeNaples Center, room 405.
Roundtable discussions will be held on being a business owner, wages and salary, mentoring, and more. This wonderful experience will help young female students connect with the women and receive personal mentoring. Light appetizers will be served.
This event recognizes the unique experience women have when they join the workforce. In 2009, a Center for Women’s Business Research study found that only 28% of businesses are owned by women. Many women face specific gender-based challenges when seeking leadership opportunities in the business world.
If you or any students you know are interested, please RSVP by Friday, March 8, to Justine Johnson, director, Jane Kopas Women’s Center, at (570) 941-6194 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
