The Office Convention Timeline and Events

Thursday, October 25: 2:00 p.m.

Set Up for A Royal Welcome at St. Thomas Hall
Traffic on Linden Street is restricted to one lane exiting campus only from Monroe to Madison avenues until 5:30 p.m. when it will close for the duration of the Convention.


Friday, October 26
6:30 a.m. – Royal Welcome University Section Opens (Please wear purple)
Students, faculty and staff enter through the Common’s between St. Thomas Hall and library. (Royal card required for access to University section.) The first 2,000 students, faculty and staff with valid Royal card will be given a purple Scranton t-shirt. Areas for the general public are on Founder’s Green and Monroe Avenue near the Alumni Rose Garden.

7:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. – A Royal Welcome
Regular class schedule with modifications to classes on Friday morning are at the discretion of the professor; casual dress for employees wearing purple, University offices close at 3 p.m. The Royal Welcome includes student entertainment and Al Roker of the Today show live broadcasts.

10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. – Tours of The Scranton Estate (Free Event)

Noon – Tour of The Heritage Room of the Weinberg Memorial Library (Free Event)

2:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. – Convention and Office Olympics registration at the Radisson Lackawanna Station Hotel. NBC.com and the NBC Store will be present

5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. – Convention kick-off reception at the Radisson Lackawanna Station Hotel. (free and open to public who are 21 and older)

5:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m. Linden Street Main Stage – local bands (Free Event)

7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. – “College Night Block Party Bash for Aspiring Paper Professionals” – Byron Recreation Complex (College ID required)

8 p.m. to 11 p.m. – VIP Casino Night at The Mohegan Sun ad Pocono Downs*
First Friday (all art galleries in the downtown open) (Free Event)
Trolley tours of all the locations mentioned on the show (Ticketed Event)


Saturday, October 27
10 a.m. to 7 p.m. – Linden Street Festival with NBC Store, music, food and games (Free Event)

10 a.m. to 5 p.m. – Convention and Office Olympic registration at Street Festival (St. Thomas Parking Lot)

10 a.m. – Ribbon Cutting, Main Stage on Linden Street (Free Event)

10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. – The Office Olympics and Awards, Main Stage on Linden Street (Free Event)

10 a.m. to 7 p.m. – Music  on Courthouse Square (Free Event)

3 p.m. – The Scrantones perform, Main Stage on Linden Street (Free Event)

7 p.m. – Fireworks from Courthouse Square (Free Event)

11 a.m. and 1 p.m. – Tours of The Scranton Estate (Free Event)

10 a.m. to 5 p.m. – The Office wardrobe exhibit at Electric City Trolley Museum (Ticketed Event)

1 p.m. to 2 p.m. – The “Uncommon Stakeholder’s Meeting” at The Mall at Steamtown, hosted by the Greater Scranton Chamber of Commerce (Free Event)

5 p.m. to 7 p.m. –  “Q & A” panel with cast members at The University of Scranton (Ticket Required)

8 p.m. to 9 p.m. – VIP cocktail reception at Lackawanna College (Ticketed Event)

8 p.m. to 11 p.m. – Character look-alike contest and The Scrantones featuring special guests at Lackawanna College (Ticket Required)

Continuous screening of the first three seasons of “The Office” at downtown theaters (Free Event)

Trolley tours of all the locations mentioned on the show (Intern pass or higher)


Sunday, October 28
10 a.m. to 5 p.m. – The Office wardrobe exhibit at Electric City Trolley Museum
(Intern pass or higher)

10 a.m. to 3 p.m. – Street Festival with NBC Store, music, food and games (Free Event)

10 a.m. to noon – Convention registration at Street Festival (Adams Avenue)

9 a.m. to 11 a.m. – Bloggers’ Breakfast at The Hilton Scranton Hotel (Ticketed Event)

12 p.m. to 2 p.m. – “Writers’ Block” at the Scranton Cultural Center (Ticketed Event)

2 p.m. to 3 p.m. – VIP Reception at The Scranton Cultural Center (Ticketed Event)

Continuous screening of the first three seasons of “The Office” at downtown theaters
