Matthew Kelly to Speak at Scranton
Matthew Kelly, an internationally acclaimed speaker and author of seven books, will make his third appearance at The University of Scranton on Monday, September 16, 2002. The event, to be held in the Long Center beginning at 7 p.m., is open to the public free of charge. The presentation will be followed by a book signing.
Australian-born Mr. Kelly has addressed more than two million people in 46 different countries and millions more by his TV appearances. Using heartwarming humor, Mr. Kelly shares with his audiences and readers the simple principles inspired in him by the life and teachings of Jesus Christ. His message is one that energizes people to pursue the highest values of the human spirit.
Mr. Kelly first came to Scranton in 2000, when he spoke to an audience of about 2,000 in the Long Center on campus. In 2001, 2,800 people filled the Long Center to hear him speak. Last year, following his presentation at the university, he led a four-night mission to a full-house audience at St. Peter's Cathedral, Scranton. He also visited Scranton High School, where he distributed complimentary copies of his book, The Rhythm of Life, to 1,300 students. In November 2001, he returned to Scranton to launch his newest title, The Shepherd.
