08/29 - University of Scranton to Honor Victims of September 11

In honor of the victims of September 11, The University of Scranton will hold a Memorial Mass on September 11 at 5 p.m. in the Byron Recreation Complex and present "In Memoriam: A Concert Honoring the Victims & Heroes of the 11 September Attacks" on Sept. 14. The Saturday performance by the university's Concert Band and Concert Choir will begin at 8 p.m. in the university's Houlihan-McLean Center, Mulberry Street at Jefferson Avenue.

Five University of Scranton alumni and 32 relatives of students and alumni were killed in the national tragedy of 2001. This event honors members of the Scranton community and all those who died on that day.

Admission is free, but donations will be accepted at the door. Proceeds will be distributed by the Office of Collegiate Volunteers to local charities that provide services to families in emergency situations.
