Each semester the Military Science Department runs a weekend FTX at a military base. Normally, the students ride a bus to the base on a Friday afternoon. They occupy and maintain barracks Friday evening. During Saturday and Sunday, students fire weapons, negotiate confidence and leadership reaction courses, practice rappelling and train on land navigation techniques. While on base, students eat in the Army "mess hall" and sometimes get to ride in military helicopters. Students ride the bus back to school on Sunday evening and are generally excited about the experience and quite tired.
