BAUMBACH, BURNS, LEE EARN FIRST-TEAM ECAC SOUTHERN HONORS

Three members of The University of Scranton women's lacrosse team have been named first-team Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Southern Division in a ballot conducted among the coaches in the region.

Junior attacker Elizabeth Baumbach (Long Valley, N.J./West Morris Central), senior attacker Ali Burns (Bordentown, N.J./The Peddie School) and junior midfielder Bridget Lee (West Nyack, N.Y./Albertus Magnus) were honored after leading the Lady Royals of head coach Brenda Brewer to a 10-7 overall record, which included its second straight Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) and ECAC Mid-Atlantic playoff appearances.

Baumbach, the 2002 MAC player of the year, earned first-team all-MAC and second-team Metro Region all-American honors by the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA)/United States Lacrosse (USL) for the second straight year. She led the Lady Royals in scoring for the third straight year with 75 goals and 26 assists for 101 total points. According to the latest NCAA statistics, she is eighth in Division III in goals scored and 10th in total points. She accounted for 13 total points in a 20-7 win over Elizabethtown College on April 25, which is tied for the second-highest single-game total in Division III this year, and her 10 goals in that match is tied for fourth. She is Scranton's all-time leading scorer with 176 goals and 61 assists for 237 total points in 47 matches.

Burns finished third on the team in scoring with 43 goals and 17 assists for 59 total points this past spring to earn second-team all-MAC honors. Her 43 goals is the third highest single-season total in Scranton history. She also finished seventh in the MAC in goals scored and tenth in total points. A three-year letter-winner, she concluded her career with 78 goals and 26 assists for 103 total points.

Lee, a two-time District II Academic all-America selection, scored 35 goals and had a team-leading 53 assists for 88 total points to earn first-team all-MAC honors for the second straight season. She is currently ranked fourth in Division III in assists and 19th in points per game. She is the Lady Royals' all-time leader with 107 assists and is second in total points (206) and goals scored (99). Earlier this year, she tied her own Scranton single-game record with seven assists each against Misericordia on March 19 and Elizabethtown on April 25, which are tied for the fourth-highest performances in Division III this year.

As a team, Scranton is currently ninth in Division III in draw controls (12.75), 15th in points per game (13.938) and 19th in scoring margin (+4.81).
