There are many opportunities for personal development at the University, including educational, technical and general well-being.
Undergraduate and Graduate Courses
Full-time regular employees, employed on the first day of the semester, may take two courses free of tuition charges each semester, intersession, and summer session through the College of Graduate and Continuing Education.
Part-time employees working at least half time and employed on the first day of the semester are eligible for two courses during the academic year (1 September to 31 August).
Job Skills and Technical Training
Classes to enhance computer skills and to provide training on the use of common University applications such as email, calendar, the myScranton portal and Banner are available through the Weinberg Memorial Library and IT Services.
Health and Wellness
Wellness Works for a Healthier You is a program for staff and faculty that encourages lifestyle choices promoting health and wellness. Employees can earn monetary incentives for participating in pillars of wellness. For more information check the website at www.scranton.edu/employeewellness.
The Byron Recreational Complex, a multi-million dollar recreational facility is available free of charge to all Staff members. The complex contains three full sized gymnasiums, a six lane pool, saunas, steam rooms, four racquetball courts and a dance aerobics room. The Murray Royals Fitness Center is equipped with treadmills, cross-trainers, steppers, and Cybex weight training equipment, and more.
