Your first day at The University of Scranton actually begins weeks before classes start. In late June and early July, we welcome incoming freshmen and their families with two days of information mixed with a lot of celebration and fun at Summer Orientation.

You’ll see the Scranton spirit all around as everyone pitches in to make you feel at home right from the start. Our faculty and staff work hard, but the students who volunteer to be Orientation Aides provide the incredible energy to make sure you have a great experience. Orientation Aides are so dedicated, they compete for the privilege of being your guide during orientation.

Spending a night in a residence hall, setting up a schedule with an advisor, and attending activity fairs are some of the ways Summer Orientation helps resident and commuter students build relationships and begin to get involved in our Scranton community. Because your family is as important to us as it is to you, we don’t stop there. Summer Orientation is an adventure for the whole family with special accommodations and activities for your parents and siblings.
