Here at The University of Scranton, we extend a friendly and helpful welcome to undergraduate and graduate students from around the world. We have been teaching international students for over 50 years and understand the unique challenges — and rewards — international students will experience throughout their stay in the U.S. Our full-time Director of International Student Affairs advises and counsels students during their transition to a new culture and educational system. We also offer practical assistance for many things such as obtaining medical insurance coverage, dealing with the U.S. Immigration and Naturalization Service (INS), and helping with currency control documents.

There are many student-run international clubs on campus, including the International Student Association that plans special events to help you bond with fellow students. To get the most out of your stay with us, you’ll also want to take advantage of the University resources that are available to all students.

"There is a wonderful community spirit here at The University of Scranton with everyone extending a particularly warm welcome to international students. We always have a great turnout at International Dinners and Picnics."
