My name is Katie Gonzalez and I am from Bethlehem, PA. I am a senior Criminal Justice and Communication double major with a track in Public Relations.  My sophomore year, I had an amazing experience studying abroad in Rome, Italy for a semester. This is my first year involved with student government; however I have been an active member on campus since freshman year.  I am a member of the varsity field hockey team and am a Community Assistant in the upperclassman apartments.  I am a member of Varietas, a diversity education and awareness organization, and I am also involved in Alpha Lambda Delta (freshman) and Alpha Sigma Nu (criminal justice) honors societies.  Lastly, I am involved with the International Service Program (ISP) and served in Mexico last June.  
 
As Director of Communications, some of my duties include the planning of events such as the Street Sweep, Midnight Madness, and the Fall and Spring Elections.  I am also responsible for keeping the students updated on what is going on in the Office of Student Government. Aside from these duties, I am excited to be apart of some new school spirit initiatives and to serve the student body and the University of Scranton community to the best of my ability.
