Goals
- Develop programming that focuses on cultural awareness and appreciation of diverse groups
- Educational resource library comprised of African-American, Native American, Asian-Pacific and Latino-Hispanic American history and culture
- Facilitation of academic and multicultural programs and workshops for faculty, staff and students that focus on:
- Awareness of cultural differences
- Self-assessment of cultural awareness and prejudices
- Changing prejudicial attitudes or behaviors
- Discussing social justice issues
- Assist in the orientation of underrepresented students to the culture of the institution and provide support for those students as they progress through the university community
- Provide and encourage effective advisement program for students and student organizations as needed
- Provide opportunities for students and organizations to develop leadership and other personal life skills
- Manage Peer Mentor Program to help students make the transition and adjustment to university life
