Easter Break Residence Hall Closing

Thursday, April 5- Monday, April 9, 2012

Campus housing will close on Thursday, April 5, 2012 at noon for Easter Break. The halls will reopen on Monday, April 9, 2012 at noon. Prior to leaving campus all residents are required to do the following:

1. Clean room
2. Remove all trash & food
3. Clean refrigerator and remove non-perishable food
4. Unplug all electrical items
5. Close and lock all windows
6. Pull down and close blinds
7. Turn off all lights
8. Close and lock room door
9. Pack all items & valuables you will need over break
10. Start bringing home personal items to help you with your May checkout!

The last person to leave the room must fill out the We’re Outta Here form that will be attached to the room/apt. door.

Students may seek permission to stay during the break if they have extenuating circumstances (international student, student teaching, etc.) by submitting an online break request form on UIS available from March 26-April 3. Access to all residential areas during the break will be denied to any student who did not receive official written approval from the Director of Residence Life. STUDENTS ARE NOT PERMITTED TO RETURN TO THE RESIDENCE HALLS UNTIL MONDAY. THERE ARE NO EARLY ARRIVALS.

Dining Services Hours
Wednesday, April 4 - 3rd floor, Hyland and Java City close at 230pm, 1st floor DeNaples Food Court and Mulberry St. Cafe close at 7pm and Cstore/Starbucks close at 6pm. Thursday, April 5 - Food Court is the only option for food (hours 11am-1:30pm), Starbucks open 8am-1:30pm and Cstore (DeNaples) open 11am-4pm.
Monday, April 9 - 3rd and 1st floor open for dinner at 4:45pm (3rd floor) and 4pm (1st floor). Mulberry St. Cafe opens at 4pm.  Cstore/Starbucks/Mulberry Market open at Noon.

Students with questions should email or call Residence Life (570-941-6226 or res-life@scranton.edu). Graduate students living in Herold House or Dorothy Day Apts. are not required to leave for the Easter Break.  Have a safe and fun holiday.   Please note the University is closed on Friday, April 6 and Monday, April 9.
