Web-based Course Checklist

Complete the following checklist to determine if you are ready to begin your course. If at anytime you have questions, please call College of Graduate and Continuing Education (CGCE) (570) 941-7580 or the Information Resources Technology Support Center (570) 941-4357. You may also email Virginia Egan eganv2@scranton.edu or the Technology Support Center at techsupport@scranton.edu. Contact your instructor if you have questions about course instructions or assignments.

Check

Received information instructions sent to you in hard copy, by mail, and by email.

Check

Read the Web-based Course Guidelines, checked the technical and software requirements and compared them to the computer I plan to use. (If my computer did not have the necessary hardware or software, I researched where to go to use an appropriate computer.)

Check

Confirm that you have and are using Netscape 6.0 or later or Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.0 or later. If using AOL, please minimize the AOL browser and use Internet Explorer or Netscape while still connected to the Internet.

Check

Check

Was able to log into Blackboard (Courses may be accessed 1 week prior to the start of the term).

Check

Logged into my course using the logon instructions I received in the e-mail. (I put my UserID and password in a safe place.)

Check

E-mailed my instructor and provided contact information within the first two days of the course. I understand that, consistent with college policy, no refunds will be processed after the university’s published last day to drop and receive refund. See your registration confirmation letter or the Web-Based Course Process page for actual dates. To drop a course, e-mail Margaret Parsons parsonsm1@scranton.edu.

Check

Carefully read the course details and instructions provided by my instructor.

Check

Spent time exploring and navigating my course Web site. (If I had problems or questions, I contacted my instructor immediately.)

Check

Visited course Web pages that my instructor advised me to read and added these pages as bookmarks (Netscape) or favorites (Internet Explorer).

Check

Understand the withdrawal policy.

Check

If I am unable to take required on-campus examinations, I have secured a proctor and returned the Proctor Form to College of Graduate and Continuing Education by the last day for 100% tuition refund.
