Our Jesuit-Catholic identity is the cornerstone of our lives at the University of Scranton. T.A.P.E.S.T.R.Y is a four year professional development program, with the first year focusing on the "Magis" by providing you with information and knowledge in order to help you excel in academics that includes your "head, heart, and hands" in the Jesuit tradition.   Please note....All requirements and activities must be completed by the end of first year.


Freshman Year (Magis) students are required to complete the following:

  • Mandatory Meeting/Lecture: “The Purpose of a Jesuit Education in the Helping Professions”
  • Ignatian Values in Action Lecture -OR- Conference on disABILITY lecture
  • Center for Teaching & Learning Excellence (CTLE):  Introduction Workshop-Become familiar with: the writing center, tutoring, reading, and disability services.  Click here to set up an appointment.
  • Academic Service Learning: T.A.P.E.S.T.R.Y. Program.  Services include:
    • Service Learning contracts are to be filled out online. Click here for more information
    • Service Learning timesheets must also be turned in. Click here to obtain timesheet
    • Academic Advising Requirements:
      • Freshman check-in Advising
      • Group Advising
      • Registration Advising Appointment

During Sophomore Year (Discernment) students are required to complete the following:

  • Digital Reputation: Presentation by Office of Career Services
  • Departmental Requirements

During Junior Year (Contemplatio ad Amorem) students are required to complete the following:

  • Departmental Requirements only 

During Senior Year (Cura Personalis) students are required to complete the following:
