Policies
Borrowing
All currently enrolled University of Scranton students, faculty, administration, and staff have borrowing privileges for Media/EdLab Resources. Persons without a Royal Card may use Media/EdLab resources in the MRC, but may not borrow them.
Faculty and Staff may borrow Audio Books, DVDs, Music CDs, and VHS tapes for seven (7) days. EdLab materials may be borrowed for the full semester.
Students may borrow Audio Books and Music CDs for five (5) days, and DVDs and VHS tapes for two (2) days. EdLab materials may be borrowed for five (5) days.
Copyright
United States federal copyright law provides for strict penalties for copyright infringement. The MRC abides by the entire copyright, Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) of 1998 and the "Fair Use Guidelines for Educational Multimedia." Material protected by copyright may not be copied without written permission from the copyright holder. This applies to all media formats.
Services
Acquisitions
Recommendations for new titles are welcome and requests can be submitted directly to the Media Resources Coordinator or to the subject bibliographer by providing in writing the title(s), summary description, director, and distributor. Acquisitions are made on a rolling basis throughout the year.
Media for Class Use
Media material may be reserved for use on specific dates by submitting a Media Resources Class Use Request Form. A 48-hour notice is requested to ensure availability of material. Note: your request is not confirmed until the MRC staff contacts you either by phone or e-mail.
Reserves
The MRC puts media and EdLab material on reserve. Requests should be submitted on a Reserve Request Form.
