End of the Year Drive

The University of Scranton's annual End of the Year Drive collects all the items that students would normally discard at the end of the academic year.  A team of more than 20 underclassman undertake the effort to collect, sort and distribute the donations, volunteering to stay on campus after final exams.  Donations are given to area agencies in need such as Friends of the Poor, Community Invention Center, Leahy Family Center, and Safety Net.  Boxes will placed in all residence halls, in additional to the parking garage stairwells and several academic buildings.  We can even arrange for boxes for your off-campus apartments!

Where do we donate the items collected?

In 2017, we donated clothing, food, household items and furniture to Friends of the Poor at both Jackson Terrace and Valley View Terrace community rooms, the Leahy Clinic food pantry, United Neighborhood Centers, Keystone Rescue Mission, St. Francis clothing house and food pantry and the Community Intervention Centers.  We also held a large rummage sale to financially assist students wishing to go on a domestic service trip during Intersession, Spring and Summer breaks.
