Safe Trick or Treat

Safe Trick or Treat in The University of Scranton Residence Halls allows invited guests from local service agencies such as Friends of the Poor and United Neighborhood Centers, a chance to trick or treat in a safe area.  Resident students hand out candy while escorted by student volunteers.  A party afterward, hosted by our student government clubs, is filled with fun activities, crafts and games.   Each year this large on-campus event attracts hundreds of student volunteers, area children, and resident hall participants.

Volunteers

Student volunteers are needed for the event in many ways!

  • Resident Hall Floors- hand out candy to children.  Decorate your floor!  Candy is provided by your floor.

  • Students to escort children on the trick or treat route- walk with a group of children around campus on our  pre-made route, then act as a buddy to those children for the party afterwards

  • Club members- have your club host a table of crafts/games at the after Trick or Treating party in the Byron.  Club members can come in shifts to assure all your members have a chance to participate.  Supplies for crafts and games are the responsibility of the club.

RA's will register floors beginning October 1st through Royal Sync.  Clubs will sign up for a table and let us know your intended craft/game through Royal Sync as well.  Registeration for both closes on the Friday prior to the event at 12pm.

Photos of Children from the Event are posted on our FaceBook page!
