Opportunities For Parents

As a parent of a college student, you know that this is a time for letting go, letting your student make their own decisions (and mistakes) so that they can ultimately lead a happy and productive life as an independent adult.

That doesn’t mean your college student doesn't still need your support. The following is a list of ways you can continue to support your student and the University.

Send a Gift

Make it a day to remember send your student a gift basket to mark a special day or accomplishment. Simply look over the Royal Treat Gift Baskets available online and place your order online or by calling Dining Services at 570-941-6328. Your student will receive a call asking them to pick up a surprise at the Catering Department. Packages include Happy Birthday, Get Well Soon, and Stress Buster.

Each year, the generosity of Scranton parents helps the university support a wealth of innovative learning opportunities for students. Gifts to the Royal Fund have an immediate impact on the living and learning experience at the University. Your donations sustain an environment in which students are free to choose a unique academic path and are encouraged to collaborate with faculty. The countless opportunities to involve themselves in the life of the University and the surrounding community are a direct result of your giving and decision to make Scranton a philanthropic priority.

Visit

While it’s important for college students to have time on their own to focus on their studies and build relationships with friends, a visit from their family is usually a welcome break from the stresses of college. Even if you live in the Scranton area, showing an interest in and learning about your student’s college-life is positive for you both.

Family Weekend

Family Weekend is the perfect time to reconnect with your student and experience their world at the University.
