In addition to the required courses the mathematics major takes an additional 21 credits of mathematics electives. The student is free to select any 21 credits of 300-400 level mathematics courses as long as they meet the following criteria.

Physics 350 Applied Engineering Mathematics (also listed as PHYS 350)
Physics 351 Mathematical Physics II (also listed as PHYS 351)
The mathematics major is required to take Elements of Physics I and II and Computer Science I. An additional fifteen credits of cognate (=supporting) coursework must be taken to fill a minor, a second major, teaching certification, or a pre-approved cognate package.
