Anti-Violence Advocacy
"Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it's the only thing that ever has"
-Margaret Mead
In an effort to foster "an inclusive campus community where individuals advocate for the respect of the human dignity of all people," the Jane Kopas Women's Center is dedicated in creating a safe community for all. Throughout the academic year, we host educational programming seeking to raise awareness of gender-based violence, which affects people of all genders, yet is disproportionately experienced by women and folks in the trans* community. Below are some annual programs we host to educate our community and inspire advocacy to end all forms of violence:
Fall Semester
- The Royal P.A.C.T Program
- Domestic Violence Awareness Month Events
- An Empty Place at the Table
Spring Semester
- Anti-Street Harassment Week
- Sexual Assault Awareness Month
- Take Back the Night
