Living in Grief and Healing Together

The death of a loved one can be a confusing and isolating time, especially for college students.

Campus Ministry offers grief support in a number of ways:

  • We collaborate with the University Counseling Center to offer gatherings for students who are experiencing grief and loss. L.I.G.H.T. allows students to gather with peers to talk about the many aspects of grief and loss. Additionally, L.I.G.H.T. programs offer grieving students the chance to learn about the grief process and utilize prayer as a source of support through the difficult journey of grief.
  • Each November we sponsor a Mass of Remembrance as a way of remembering those who have died during the past year. Students, faculty, staff, alumni and community members are invited to come and pray for those who have died and offer their support to grieving families.
  • Campus Ministers are available any time to talk with and companion students on their grief journey. Knowing that you are not alone and talking through what you are experiencing can be a great help in coping the loss.
  • Dates for L.I.G.H.T. dinners:
    • Tuesday, February 20, 2024, 6 PM, The Denaples Center 405
    • Wednesday, March 20, 2024, 6 PM, The Denaples Center 405
    • Thursday, April 25, 2024, 6 PM, The Denaples Center 405
